As a former teacher and publisher and through her work in Development NGOs, she has a huge passion for Youth, Education and Capacity building in emerging countries. Jane brings a great depth of understanding of the volunteer experience to her role at YCA. In her spare time she works closely with an Australian NGO in Cambodia who set up and support medical clinics and provide peer to peer training for emerging medical and teaching graduates in rural provinces. | | | | PROGRAM MANAGER - INTERNATIONAL & INTERNSHIPS Kathryn O'Connor Kat first volunteered as a teacher in Nepal when she was 18, spending six months volunteering and travelling in Nepal, India and Pakistan. Since completing a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science, Kat has worked for leading volunteer organisations in the UK, managing volunteer programs in countries including Borneo, Ghana, Mexico, Thailand, and Guatemala. While studying Spanish in Guatemala Kat fell in love with the people, the culture and the country and ended up staying for four years. Most recently Kat spent 3 months on the ground in Haiti coordinating and managing volunteers. Kat is now excited to bring her substantial skills and experience to Australia to manage the International and Internship programs for YCA. | | | | PROGRAM MANAGER - INDIGENOUS Liz Stack Liz left YCA in 2011 to have a baby and returned in 2012. She is now working part-time as the Program Manager - Indigenous Australia. Liz hopes to expand the positive impact YCA volunteers can have in Indigenous communities in Australia and offer more opportunities to Indigenous Australians to volunteer overseas through the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program. | | | | VOLUNTEER & RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR Kate Houlahan Kate completed a Bachelor of Health Science (PD/H/PE) in 2010 and is currently completing a Diploma of Community Welfare and Development.
