How to apply as a field staff | Youth Challenge Australia

Youth Challenge Australia is looking for dynamic Indigenous Australian leaders, educators and managers with experience in leadership, youth work, and community work to lead a group of enthusiastic Indigenous Australian and Ni-Vanuatu youth on an upcoming community development project in Vanuatu.

Working closely with a team of international staff and volunteers, you will receive training in and manage the preparation, coordination and facilitation of a 6 week rural community development project. This position also involves working in partnership with teams of local and international youth, and working with community members and associations, support staff, your regional program office and home country office.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to build experience and skills in:

Leadership;
Youth Work;
Report Writing and Financial Management;
Project Management;
Logistics;
Mediation and Conflict Resolution; and
Cross Cultural Communication.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR FIELD STAFF:

To be considered for the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (IYLP) in Vanuatu as Field Staff, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Experience working with youth in a leadership capacity;
Willing and physically able to undertake an 8 week leadership, training, community development and cultural exchange project in Vanuatu and Australia;
25 years or older;
Positive towards others and willing to engage with people of different cultures and languages;
Motivated to make a difference in the world;
Eligible for or currently hold an Australian Passport; and
Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

HOW TO APPLY:

To apply for a Field Staff position on the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program please follow the steps below:

	1. Click on the 'Apply Here' button on the left. On the 'Apply Here' page there is a small drop down menu box. From the drop down box, please select 'Field Staff Application'. (There is no specific IYLP Field Staff application form).

	2. Where it asks you to "Please select your 1st program preference", select 'Indigenous Youth Leadership Program', from the drop down box. What you write in this form will determine if you will be shortlisted for an interview, so please tell us as much about yourself as possible!

	3. Upload your resume to the by clicking the 'Browse' button. Please ensure you include the contact
	details of two referees.

	4. Submit the form.

	5. You will receive an email with a copy of your application as confirmation that your application has been received.

Please note: To apply for a Field Staff Position on the IYLP program, you must fill in the 'Field Staff Application' form from the drop down menu, and select 'Indigenous Youth Leadership Program' as your 1st program preference.
